baseball birthday party feature

With two girls at prime “I’m a princess” age, I can only daydream about throwing a sports oriented party. Hopefully in the next few years my daughter’s interests will change or I will have a boy or two so I can throw a baseball party EXACTLY like this one by Katie of Katie’s Pencil Box!

There are so many details about this party that I love, but what I admire most is that (almost) everything was created by Katie (she even took the pictures)! Katie made the amazing concession stand awning out of tent poles “she had lying around” (how amazing is she?), sewed felt pennants around dowel rods for flags and made white pennant banners to hang outside. For the party favors, Katie made canvas drawstring bags and filled them with a take home a baseball, a pack of vintage baseball cards (printed at home onto card stock from images found online), bubble gum, and other sweets.
And the absolute kicker….Katie PAINTED  the life size baseball player card board cut out that was used for the photobooth.  I’m all about DIY and I so admire all the work Katie put into this fabulous party.
